Dr. Samir Ouizi

(Hons) Pod; Certified Podiatrist & Certified Canadian Wound Care Specialist; Member of CPSNS and CFPM

Dr. Samir Ouizi is from Brussels, Belgium. Originally from Casablanca, Morocco. He obtained his degree in Podiatric Medicine at Institution Superieure De Podiatrie, Hopital Universitaire de Bruggman in Brussels. In 2006, he obtained his International Inter-professional Wound Care Certificate from Toronto; Ontario. He is a member of good standing of the Nova Scotia College of Physicians and Surgeons as a Certified Podiatrist.

Dr. Samir Ouizi has close to 25 years of lower limb Podiatry care experience.  He appreciates team work and innovation in health care and has expertise in teaching and treating diabetic lower limb wounds, biomechanics, skin care, nail care and nail surgery, always with patient centered and tailored care. He continues to be involved in many scientific international Podiatric research studies. Samir has a keen interest in lower limbs wound and injury prevention, care and rehabilitation.

Samir is pronounced “Sameer” and Ouizi as “Weezy”. In his free time he enjoys hiking and teaching soccer to his kids.

He is fluent in Arabic, English, French with some knowledge of the Holland language.

Dr. Samir Ouizi is accepting new patients at the Arthritis & Injury Care Centre locations in Downtown Halifax, Clayton Park, and Dartmouth.

Rihab Ouni

Certified Podiatrist Member of CPSNS and CFPM BSc (Pod), C.E.C. Diabetic Foot Management

Rihab Ouni is a dedicated and experienced podiatrist who joined the Arthritis & Injury Care Centre team in January 2022. Originally from Sousse, Tunisia, she earned her degree in Podiatry from the Higher School of Health Sciences and Techniques in Sousse in 2018. In 2019, she obtained a Continuing Education Certificate in Diabetic Foot Management from the Faculty of Medicine Ibn Al Jazzar in Sousse.

With over five years of professional experience, Rihab is proficient in preventing, diagnosing, and treating ankle and foot problems, and managing various types of diabetic wounds. She is skilled in fitting custom orthotics to address foot disorders and is passionate about providing high-quality podiatric care to improve patients’ quality of life. Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, Rihab is known for her comprehensive foot care services, including managing conditions such as corns, calluses, warts, heel cracks, and onychomycosis.

Rihab has a special interest in sports podiatry and biomechanics. She has been recognized for her contributions to podiatry innovations and research, being nominated for best dissertation twice and winning the 2nd award for “Mémoire étudiant PodoFair 2020” in Enghien, Belgium. Her professional accomplishments include conducting thorough podiatric assessments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diabetic wounds, and utilizing advanced techniques such as 3D scanning for custom-made foot orthotics and photo disinfection therapy for onychomycosis.

Outside of her professional life, Rihab is passionate about volunteering in both healthcare and community settings. She enjoys going to the gym, taking walks, and spending time with friends. Her commitment to her work and her community reflects her dedication to improving the well-being of her patients and those around her.
